ABS, Parking brake, and Traction control lights

This is the second time all three of these lights have turned on on me. When the lights are on, the traction control and ABS don't work at all! And right now in Alaska I really could use them. The first time i brought it to the shop and they said it was the brake light switch and they said they fixed it. But not even a week later it happend again! I'm kinda angry...

It can happen if snow is getting caught up in your wheel wells and is covering the sensors. It has happened to me once on my Sedona. The sensor gets an error and the throws the ABS, TC off, and Service Brake Warning Light (same light as the parking brake warning light).

I am confused. Are you saying the lights are on all the time to indicate a fault?. or just coming on when the systems are working?. If they are on all the time, does a switch off and restart not reset them?.

All you can do is use the warranty and keep throwing it back at them and insist on a courtesy car until they repair it properly. As you state - the car is dangerous to use in your weather conditions.

Funny how I said this, but no one seemed to notice. This can happen when snow is packed in the wheel wells and the sensors cannot read wheel speed properly. When this was happening, was there a lot of snow pack in your wheel wells?

i read and understood what you said. Are we not allowed to ask posters further questions to fully understand the issue they have - so if others get it, it is instantly recognisable. And if you are right in your diagnosis - will a simple clearing of the arches solve the problem?, or does the car have to go to a dealer for a reset?. And was the initial failed repair by the dealer a mistake? or a coincidence?.

Sorry, bad morning. Anyway. No, the dealer should not have to get involved. If snow is cleared, simply turning the vehicle off and removing the key for 30 seconds will reset the systems.
