I just had a further though that could possibly happen. The all new Forte is getting two new engines (for this model), the 1.8 MPI and the 2.0L GDI with 173 hp, so maybe they might drop this 2.0L into the Soul for 2014. We should know for sure within a few months.

Much to my surprise our 2012 soul is finally starting to deliver decent m.p.g.'s!
Getting around 34-35 highway (with winters oxygenated fuel) and 24-25 city.
Seems our soul is starting to loosen up after about 6k miles.

Those are the Nu engine, yes? A 2.0 GDI at 173 HP sounds about right.

I'd like to see the 2.4 200 HP GDI Theta in the Souls. You could tall-gear it big-time and IMO it would do better than the two current mills.

don't know yet but yes I am unsure of the MPG. My dash says 26-27/// city.. not really its Daytona Beach not Dallas.. highway last weekend I-4 death run was 28-29... my 3 fuelly's /// Lol show me at 28.6 but have babied the crap out of her so far. I want this car to last. I don't plan on burning and turning it. So... realistically I am probably going to be in the 22 city to 27 highway range... by my guesstimation. Not a word I know.
