Thread: Glove compartment light on?

Noticed my glove compartment light on while driving.... it was closed yet could see the floor lit up Anyone else have this? I thought something was stuck, moved things around inside but it was still on when closed. When I stopped to get gas and re-started my soul, light was out. Anyone else have this? know what could cause it?

That's where the hamsters run in the wheel to keep you heading down the road. Sometimes they forget to turn the light out when they go home.

i cant figure out if the 2012 have their glovebox light on permanently with the sidelights on or whether we have a bunch of dodgy switches out there?

It's a dodgy switch. Mine is doing it as well just haven't taken it in yet.

It comes on with the headlights and if you lightly push on the door the light goes off. Hit a bump and it comes back on.

..but it does go off with the headlights though right?

Correct if your headlights are off then the glove box light is off as well.

this has been covered before and yes it happened to me, just put a little felt pad where the round knob hits the door and haven't notice the problem since (any hardware store). The knob is very touchy and unless they put one in with a longer release or new design can't see it solving the problem. I notified my dealer about it (he put it on my file) and he passed it on to Kia, but haven't bothered to see about getting it corrected by them not worth my trouble to drive to the dealership for it when I already had one of those pads to fix it.

Sinabu is correct, its the same here in Canada, headlight/parking switch off - glove box light off.

I have noticed a lot of the small things just like these switches is very cheap on these cars. It's not a bad thing, as it allows KIA to have very nice other things such as things like the steering wheel, seats, gear shifter, dash, stereo, etc and maintain a great price point.

In other words... they put the money were it counted.
