Thread: MAJOR bumper repair

Oh look, I'm back and again, not sure if this is the right place to put it. (It did say "problems" and "seek advice from others" so I assume it is the right place)

Anywho, like the title says: MAJOR bumper repair. Or more like the whole front.

got into a minor car accident on my way to school (dumb 7 AM final) and now I'm stuck with a busted signal light, headlight(right side/passenger btw) is cracked just a bit, bumper is kinda dead around that area (Y'know, plastic + cold + impact. You get the idea) and looks like it's been pushed in (as there's noticeable displacement on the side by the wheels)
Yeaaah, big owie.

But what I need now is to find out how much parts are gonna cost me; specifically the bumper. I tried looking it up, but ended up getting confused since I learned the bumper isn't just "the bumper" but consists of many (big and small) parts. If you guys have any idea what parts i'll need or need to be looking at, that'd be awesome.


FYI, I'll be getting an estimate on repair from different body shops in my area. That'll probably happen when I get a new bulb for my signal light but not sure when that will happen. Work schedule kinda takes up my whole week, but not the weekend.

Why don't you call your dealership and ask them?

Or are you doing this on the sly?

believe the estimate that i got for an unpainted bumper in my area back around the end of 09 was around $500.00...

Maybe its time to delve into the highly dangerous black market for floppy discs to fund the repair.........

But anyways, er...i'd check out some other body shops before going to the dealer too if i were you. I'd say to just ask around...

lol.. ironic b/c damaged my back bumper on the kia by rolling up on one of those cement polls that was not visible in mirrors, and did the same exact thing in new suzuki the other day and got out expecting to see bumper all gouged up with paint gone but nothing - just a little yellow paint from the pole and a few very minor scratches that came right out with mequiars scratch x - whew!!

but yeah, that's what I'll be doing as soon as I get my front turn signal light in. It has to be special ordered. =___=..

I just had an estimate to repaint the front bumper and replace and paint the hood and it was $1600.
